This is a humorous recount of history that is filled with the style of British humour prevalent in the 1920s/30s. This is the ultimate charm of this book, while also limits the audience that can appreciate it. As there are many turns of phrase and words that only British readers of a certain time will be able to grasp the meaning behind them. The history that is told in this book heavily relies on the reader already knowing the actual history (or at least the bare bones of it) as the writers twist and change words for comedic intent. So half of the jokes from this book went over my head. But I know that if the right person read this, they would find it hilarious.
