A very eventful novel exploring Data and his humanity! I enjoyed how diverse the setting of this book was, the plot from the beginning eventually came back by the end, leaving me unsure where the plot was going at times, but it felt like a greater journey with Data as the pivot point that way. I found the plotline with the Konor exceptionally interesting and was glad that the novel concluded with a return to that setting. Of course the overarching moral of the story was that Data was fine and just as human as he needed to be all along, but I did feel like some of the events during his human period felt a bit out of character? This can easily be chalked up to writing him a bit differently since he became human, but I mostly disliked the romantic subplots included here. I do not think Data is incapable of being in a romantic relationship, I think I just take problems with romance being the highlighted form of his humanity in this novel; I feel as if there are much wider topics that encompass his humanity outside of a relationship with a woman. Otherwise, I enjoyed this book, any later mischaracterization was covered well with an interesting conclusion and well meaning moral.
