This was a quick, easy read that was interesting enough, though not spectacular. I didn't particularly care for any of the characters and the love story felt very forced. It also seemed to be a little too neat of an ending.

Well, this was my very last read of 2024!!! 🎆Unfortunately though, it was kind of a let down in my opinion.

I don't think that this is Karen M. McManus's best work. She has better titles that captivated me as the reader in a much better way. Still, Nothing More to Tell had it's perks. For example,
I liked the flashbacks and true crime aspect of the novel. I'm a sucker for true crime tropes like this so I ate it up. 😌 Brynn and Tripp were very dynamic and ultimately human characters that I found lovable as well. In fact, most of the characters were
intriguing and interesting in their own ways.

Still, the novel had plenty of stuff I didn't like.
I wish that the overall answer to who actually killed Larkin was revealed much sooner than the epilogue. I wanted some sort of resolution rather than a cliff hanger that was written purposely for a stand alone book. It kind of felt ... unfinished? It seemed like it was set up for a part two: Catching Charlotte. Also some plot twists I really just didn't care about. I'm sorry, but we learned literally nothing about Mason the entire time and then it's revealed he's Larkin's secret brother?? Also the whole Dexter thing was a bit of a stretch ... it was like the author wanted to discuss child abuse but then remembered she has to market the book towards a younger audience and skimped on the content.

Nevertheless, I still love McManus's work. This just wasn't it for me. I hope I have a better experience with her other titles. 🙏🙏🙏

Really really good! I was really invested in finding out who the killer was. I did not see the end coming at all. Enjoyed this so much

I enjoyed this book, but there were some issues I had with it. For one, a lot of side characters and plot elements kind of get picked up when it’s convenient and then set back down again for an indefinite amount of time.  Tripp’s mom, for example. She kind of just vanished two thirds of the way into the book even though she was part of the main conflict.

There's this reporter guy who’s supposedly trying to make it look like Tripp and his friends are guilty of murder, and the set up in the first half made it seem like this would be a much bigger issue. But then it just isn’t. Nothing happens at all.

Also, this author has her character profiles and just recycles them for new books, or at least it seems like that sometimes. She really likes the “deadbeat mom is back in town” trope too.
