For several years during my life time and the hobbies I enjoy I've always heard the name Sandman whispered through out certain comic book or anime fan groups. Wanted to check it out but the library never had it and the bookstores charged an arm and leg. this year i was able to check out vol 1-9 from the library. I must say I'm not disappointed I say if your a fan of the strange and abstract when it comes to your comics then pick up the Sandman.
I don't have a lot to say about this. I read only the first issue because I found a Kindle edition of it for free. I was unimpressed and confused. I think the whole graphic novel thing is just a little outside of my range of ability. I don't want to necessarily say that I'll never come back and read the rest of this series, but I'm certainly done for now. Although I originally rated this lowly, I think the problems I experienced with this story were my fault, not the novel's, and so I've adjusted the score to reflect the quality of the novel itself, not my experience.

I had never read these comics, and now I regret it took so long for me to get around to them. Very strange and compelling, dark and disturbing, sad and hopeful, it is an excellent read.

POR FIN. Es tan bueno como todo el mundo dice y me encantó por fin leer un comic del universo de los superhéroes. La razón principal, sin embargo, es que lo escribió Neil Gaiman y la verdad es que en lo que respecta a DC será probablemente lo único que lea. Aunque quién sabe pos. Las ilustraciones son geniales, en ocasiones muy pop art mezclado con el estilo comiquero clásico y lleno de detalles super bien cuidados <3 por su puesto no es sólo visualmente super atractivo, sino que la historia y la forma en que los diálogos se desarrollan tienen toda la magia oscura típica de Gaiman <3

I was really looking forward to this book, which was perhaps the problem. Too much hype. It was okay but not great. Maybe it's my problem with the fantasy genre--I'd rather read a pseudo-sci fi comic like X-Men.
Interesting. Story line was a little hard for me to follow, but good. Amazing work by the artists.
