This is not my usual read but my daughter recommended the author to me and I ended up reading the trilogy.
This is the 3rd book and the first two really set the scene, so would advise to read in order.
The whole series is whimsical and goofy and based in the Victorian times but with a twist.
India's writing is amazing and she somehow made pirates, witches and secret agents the norm for that period in time.... I loved it.

Just as good as the others in this series - I think it may have jumped the shark a few times but I didn’t mind - I expected silliness and roll with it, in the end it had me laughing out loud. As an autistic person, I particularly loved the representation in this book, everything about Alice’s character rung true while at the same time never feeling cartoonish or having me rolling my eyes like I usually do - it’s subtly of neurodivergence, and shows the care and attention taken in this book. Highly, highly recommend, especially for anyone sick of one note autistic characters in books.
Slight minus for every woman having had children by the epilogue, but I accept it’s a common trope in most romance novels
