Cute. I think I like Stephanie Archer’s Queen’s Cove series better, but this was still very cute. The high school pining on both sides was a fun point that I thought would come up way more than it actually did, so I was surprised when it didn’t. Not as laugh out loud as her other novels but still entertaining. I dont know if the characters felt less relatable because they were in a position of or surrounded by fame, rather than small town with “normal” jobs, but I think I still vibe more with the Rhodes clan. Although I hate the fact that I’m beginning to wonder if this also didn’t click for me as much because the MCs are enough younger than me that I don’t feel like their my peers anymore. I will say that sports romance is a hard sell for me overall, so my four stars is definitely someone else’s five.

UGH THE DUAL POV KILLS ME!! Stephanie Archer got me hooked on her books with this one. The mutual pinning and the dog love! The fact that he does everything to be mean and scary but with her, he is anything but that. Jamie and Pippa truly did help me deep dive into what I thought a good romance story was and how I believe second-chance characters should be portrayed. It would be fully 5 stars but I’m the kind of person who cringes when sang to so there was just a personal preference issue with the singing romance part

3.5 stars- This book was cute!! I really did like the well rounded-ness of the MCs. Not the most thought provoking romance in the world, but it was swoony and mega spicy.
