Another title from the Ranger's Apprentice series! John Flanagan compiles a bunch of short stories to answer readers' questions and fill in the gaps of some character's back stories. It's cute and informative but also feels a little indulgent. But that's also because I'm reading it as an adult- if I were in the target age range for this, I think I'd love it. It's all your favorite characters answering questions about "whatever happened with...?"

I really enjoyed reading these short stories; they certainly filled in the gaps among the storylines while also flowing with the rest of the books extremely well. The building of the character relationships and the character themselves,, the story has come a really long way since the first book. The forward and afterward honestly made me feel a bit sad, in a good and nostalgic way though; the thought of having to say good-bye to these characters one day is honestly one I worry about. ;-;;

The final book that finishes out the series - a group of novella-style stories, each about 4-6 chapters, filling in the answers to fan questions and the such, a sort of extended epilogue, wrapping up the series, getting characters married off, telling origin stories and the like. Read it to discuss with my nephew, to whom I gave this for Christmas. We haven't discussed the book yet, but in passing he commented to me that he really liked the way the book begins, which is with a modern day archeological dig that uncovers these lost stories. I think he, as a fan of science and history and the "real" things of this world, loves that sense of "this really happened."

I'm not usually one for the short story format but these fit in well enough with the whole series that I enjoyed them

Good finale.

This book provides fun context surrounding some of the stories, and A fun way to fill in story gaps. About time, too.

although this was supposed to be a bunch of short stories, there were very few good stories. I think my favorite was The Bridal Dance. Also, I didn’t like how Will had to retire his horse, Tug, who is now known as Bellerophon. Definitely a must read to finish the series though.
