Disappointing sequel to an amazing book :(
I feel like 60% of this book is just violence so… yeah not for me

Audiobook - In some ways, I enjoyed this book more than the first book - in others, I really disliked it. The actual plot is interesting enough, if not a little slow. However, the whole thing is interspersed with arguments and conflicts between the two main characters that started off okay but got boring really fast. Also, Tris becomes almost unbearable as a quirky main character, all self-deprecating and cannot see anything beyond herself at times.

I had the feeling I wouldn't like the second book as much as the first one because the most fun part (the training) was completed. And I was right. But I still liked the plot a lot. It didn't drag at all, so much was happening. Sometimes maybe a little too much, too fast. But I really liked how you discovered the different fractions in ... different ways. I especially loved the more sciency, logical part and Tris' curiosity. Liked the twists, the predictable and the surprising ones. And the ending really made me curious for the third book. But I was soooooo disappointed in Tris and Four and too annoyed too often. At least Tris' development was undestandable for the most part. But Four was so different from book 1. He felt like a totally different character. And this really had a huge impact on my overall enjoyment of the book.

2013
I loved this book. It was so amazing and I could barely lay it down. This is the reason that I haven't slept properly for the last 2 nights. Why does the next book have to come out in Swedish next autumn!!

2021
I read it for the first time in high school and more or less fell in love with it. Now reading it almost ten years later i get the same kind of feeling. It is still really captivating and hard to set down!

This book was a pretty good sequel. It still kept some elements from the first book and really held the same vibe.

I loved exploring the friendships between the dauntless more and getting to understand the other side of Dauntless and the other factions rather than just staying within the boundaries of Dauntless.

While I enjoyed this book, I think I liked the first one more. And I probably won't be continuing the series because I heard what happens in Allegiant.
