I am reading this book with my 7-year-old son, Olsen. His rating and review will follow mine.

This book starts off with some great story telling and builds up the characters very nicely. I think I would have enjoyed this as just a story of a family coping with the loss of a loved one without going the urban-fantasy route. Simply because the story telling was well done. But, I still enjoyed this book and enjoyed the fantasy aspect of it as well.

I think it was a very fun book that takes the reader on an interesting journey of surprises. This is very appropriate for kids aged 6-12. The author has a good imagination and I feel like any kids who have dealt with a loss would really appreciate this book. The narrator did a good job as well (I liked her bird voices).

Olsen’s rating: 5 stars
Olsen’s review:
I liked that she turned into a bird. And that
Trollay turns into Brook. I liked that the note her dad wrote changed towards the end of the book. I liked when they chased Trollay in the car all the way to the cemetery.
.

I liked the book a lot. It was a good book. I want to listen to more books by this author. I liked the Teddy Bear story sneak peek at the end of the book.

I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
