this was classic sy montgomery book- my major qualm with this book though was that it was told with a heavy backdrop of covid which although it worked well, i do not enjoy reading about :( anyway if you are cool with that i think she did a pretty good job connecting turtles to larger themes of life and telling a cute story where you also learned a lot about turtles! too much covid for me though 3.5 ⭐

Sy Montgomery just writes in a way that makes me really respect the animals she writes about. She gets to know them, their mannerisms and is so delightful. I have a new found respect for turtles for sure. This book seemed a little gory so if you're squeemish maybe not for you, but I really enjoyed it and respect the crew at TRL! Worth reading.

A some what meandering and emotional look at turtle conservation. The metaphor of turtle time was juxtaposed against a number of modern ills some of which were drawing a long bow (a miss informed and unfounded paragraph on the rise in ADHD diagnosis particularly rubbed me the wrong way). The turtles them selves are however the stars of the show and their personalities and the hope for their future was at the heart of this book.

What a timely, enjoyable read. I listened to the book narrated by Sy herself and I found that to be a real treat. I'm so glad folks like at the Turtle Rescue League exist, and grateful for the reminder how much of an impact one caring person can have.

It's a little dry and not something I have time to get into at the moment

I love the way Sy writes. I really feel like you get a good sense of their passion and joy with these beautiful creatures. This book definitely has me on a turtle kick where I want to go out and explore and help turtles myself. Definitely recommend
