Was going through a depressive phase and read this very guessable plot twist of a book.I also kind of spoiled the book for myself and it was too overhyped

I'm not a person who reads a lot of thrillers, even though I enjoy them (thanks anxiety). They still hold mystery for me and I'm not usually able to guess the ending or see the plot twist coming. That said, I knew one was coming because the author (and reviews on the cover) make sure to spoil that that from the beginning. I'm happy to report I didn't guess this one and knowing a plot twist was coming didn't ruin the big reveal for me. There are enough suspicious character that I found myself trying to figure out "whodunnit" but never quite landing on the right one. Though the book didn't grab me right from the first page, it grabbed me nonetheless and it was a fun read with minor twists and a major turn, that for me, paid off.

This was a fantastic book. I listened to it on audiobook and loved that they used two different narrators for the main characters. It was captivating and surprising on so many levels!

*Audiobook*

Given the positive buzz around this book, I expected it to be a lot better than it was.

You know those videos of dogs saying “I’m alive! I’m dead! I’m watching tv!” That’s exactly how this back made me feel. WHIPLASHED.

The narrator had a lot to say about himself and while it does tie into the story, it really made it more confusing and convoluted than anything. I felt it focused on his story more than the actual patient.

I gave it 3 stars because MAYBE it would be better if I were reading the physical book.
