Devney Perry must put some sort of drug into these books. I can’t seem to put them down even though I’m aware that I’ve read better things. This book is a great example for Perry keeping to a well known romance formula but still finding a way to make it fresh. It’s just good fun to read.

Kerrigan, backed by her mentor, has spent years building her empire in Calamity. When he unexpectedly passes away, his grandson inherits her debt. He seems to be hellbent on ruining her life. Then they to get stuck in a snowstorm together....

Pierce comes off as a complete asshole, but when we learn what he has been through, all of his assumptions and his actions makes complete sense. He has been crushed by those who were supposed to love him and protect him.
(His wife had an affair with his grandfather, and then left Pierce for him!)
Once he starts to get his life back together
(turns out that a surrogate was pregnant with his and his ex-wife s baby!)
and to trust Kerrigan, we see the emotional, supportive, and kind man that he truly is.

Kerrigan has been focusing on building an empire, her personal life falling by the wayside. She is incredibly driven, hardworking, and headstrong. She will do anything to keep her business running and to achieve her goals, despite her family not supporting her at all. I love her tenacity and persistence.

I loved the banter between these two and they had intense chemistry. Their relationship moved incredibly fast, but it felt right for them. They both knew what they wanted and they didn't want to play games.

Nellie definitely steals the show and I am very excited for her book.

Tropes: enemies to lovers, forced proximity, one bed, billionaire, small town, single parent, instalust
