I can’t believe how fast I got through this book. I read it last year, I think, but I didn’t remember much, and I just rewatched the movie so I thought I should read it again.
It’s a lot, and it’s left me feeling a lot of emotions, but it’s also somehow comforting to read.
To paraphrase Chelsea Rebecca’s take (from the Dead Meat Podcast), I find it surprisingly life-affirming. Even though Jake/the janitor made the choice he did, he still was a nice person and had people who cared about him and noticed he was gone. Everyone has their own rich personal world, and even if you don’t see it, someone cares about you and would notice your absence.

I really don't know how to rate this book, how to write this review, how to feel about this book... Yes, i'm very confused and i have never been like this after reading a book. "What are you waiting for? What are you waiting for? What are you waiting for? What are you waiting for?..."

Well don't get me wrong, the book is deep, twisted, tense, horrifying, dark...yes keep throwing the adjectives in. I couldn't put the book down although i didn't know what the heck i'm reading.

I hope you get what I mean, or you just don't, just like how the book left me...

Such a mindfuck of a book. The first 40 pages took me several days, but I flew through the last 100 in a night. Confusing as all hell. Really wild.
The beginning is so boring with all the talking, but I understand now that it’s to lead into Jake’s psyche. Of course, he comes off as stroking his big, fat ego.
I’m glad I stuck it through, but I had to look up what it meant. Will be attempting a reread.
