Great introduction to feminist literature. Really connects the reader with the  indignation and frustration of women in the 60s/in patriarchal societies.

I loved this book. The only reason I've given less than 5 stars is it wrapped up so quickly and I wanted more, I could have taken 5+ more chapters.

Ok this was cute. I was kinda skeptical because it's so popular but I enjoyed it! Elizabeth Zott is a chemist who by a series of mishaps becomes the star of a cooking show rooted in chemistry. The cast of characters and all their backgrounds were easy to follow and intriguing. The main themes of embracing change and perseverance despite what anyone says you can or can't do are both incredibly relevant but make sense in the story. I think my problem stems from the formatting/plot progression. I don't think this book really had a third act climax. What I would identify as the attempt wasn't even that climatic. I just think the book reads very flat and slow at times. I haven't seen the show so it might be different but the book would benefit from following traditional plot form.

Wow wow wow ! Finally something different. Bonnie Garmus really created something special here. It's not your typical romance book, it has so much more to it, women's conditions in the society, being different, strength and solidarity,.... It is way better than the show (which is good too by the way) but the details, the characters are so loveable and the plot keeps you going because again, I've never read something like that I truly don't know what's happening next ! Definitely recommend to read this gem !

Wow, very rarely do a finish a book and immediately want to turn back to the first page and start again. What a fun, important book. The idea of recommitting to every stroke is going to stick with me for a long time to come. I loved the way the narrative jumped between characters, such fun writing. I laughed, I cried, I felt seen. Just as Elizabeth’s watchers liked her show, this story made me feel capable and heard. Will be one I reread for sure

I enjoyed the book. However, it did make me sad and reflective. Truly Women's right have come so far along
