Wow wow wow ! Finally something different. Bonnie Garmus really created something special here. It's not your typical romance book, it has so much more to it, women's conditions in the society, being different, strength and solidarity,.... It is way better than the show (which is good too by the way) but the details, the characters are so loveable and the plot keeps you going because again, I've never read something like that I truly don't know what's happening next ! Definitely recommend to read this gem !

The weaving of storylines, the brilliant inner monologue from the ensemble. I laughed, cried, was inspired, was mad. It is an excellent mix of everything.

I'm free of this book finally. The premise is good and I did listen to it so a physical copy might be better because the main character just doesn't thunk rules apply to her. This is the 60s, there are actual laws.

Overhyped and mis-advertised. This is NOT a comedy or a romance book.

The writing is fine, but the story was slow, cliche, and very heavy handed. It became preachy very quickly. The sexism was overdone straying into cartoonish villains.

I personally hated the dog’s perspective, and I hated all the talk of rowing.
