This book really gave Barbie vibes, just in the way the author talks about being a woman in the 1950s-1960s. Talking and bringing light to these issues are super important and I am glad this book did it. I did like how the book talked about problems in religious ways of thinking, problems women faced in the workplace, and how being a woman taking care of a household is hard work. I can see how this book is a good TV series.

Solid 4/5

I enjoyed this book for the most part including its writing style. I can see why people who like Fredrick Backban would like this book.

I also liked it’s message about the cruelty of people but also their determination for themselves.

However, I wouldn’t said that it inspired me or that it’s a new all-time favorite. The book seemed looooong. I think it could’ve been edited down a 100 more pages.

I liked it! It wasn’t laugh out loud funny but I still enjoyed reading it & it only took me a day to read. Pretty easy read. I read a few bad reviews and the main issue people have is the “anti-religion” aspect LOL. Someone even wrote how a 4 year old genius convinced a minister that god doesn’t exist clearly lacks reading comprehension. Wakely didn’t believe in god in the first place. Long before he met Mad. She didn’t even say anything that horrid against religion just that she didn’t believe in it.

Chemistry, a wholesome love story and a badass woman fighting the system?! Obviously I was going to love this! And it really delivered! I was so so attached to Elizabeth Zott and so invested. She made me cry a couple of times.... And that turned it into a 5 star for me!
