I’m going to say that this book really doesn’t get good until like 75% of the way through, which is annoying because no one wants to read 200 pages just to get to the good stuff. However, I am very invested in the plot and to see where it goes. So far I like all the characters, the world is pretty easy to understand, and I didn’t feel like I was being information dumped. I enjoyed the plot twist even though it was predictable, but I wish the resolution of the situation didn’t happen so quickly. Like introducing an issue then resolving it in 3 pages doesn’t really work especially at the very end of the book. Overall, I liked it and I’m intrigued to see what happens in the next book,
This is my second time reading this series and somehow i am even more obsessed.
The plot, the world building just everything! Its so beautifully written you cant help but get sucked in.
I again read this in a day and that says something when a book the second time round manages to have you hooked.
Faythe is one of my favourite MC's, her development in the series and this book alone makes you root for her. Found family plays a huge role in this series especially with the MC, i have so many theories i cant wait!

This was a decent fantasy book- but was so slow. I found myself dragging through the book & it was definitely missing a lot of world building. However, I think the series will get better and I will be continuing it.
yeah, i loved it. and i don’t know why. it was written like i would imagine a ToG fanfiction
It's just meh. I keep finding myself zoning out because it doesn't grab my attention. Faythe is a Mary Sue, for reasons unexplained is good with a sword even though she was just gifted one by Jakon, would rather drug herself then face her mysterious powers that only fae are known to have, friend zoned her roommate but tries to sleep with him because she's drunk, and she has the self preservation of a dodo bird. Literally in the midst of trying to help her friend escape the fae, she wants to stop and help someone else being taken away by the very fae her friend is in danger with. Girl, put those two braincells to work. Set aside the savior complex and focus on the task at hand.
Her relationship with Nik is also underwhelming and boring. "I hate him because he's fae but he's so nice to me. But why?" Snooze fest.
Also a name like Jakon is just painfully unoriginal. Couldn't choose between generic male names Jason and Jack, so you combined the two?
This had potential, but it's just lacking in all areas from the writing to the world building to the character depth and more. Disappointed.
