“We shouldn’t.”
“Why not?”
“It’s... a bad idea,” I whispered.
“It’s not.”
“We end in flame.”
“Burn with me.”

This book was ok, excepting the ending. I didn’t agree with the last chapter, especially considering the fact that the main female character has been through a lot of bad things along the story...
Also, I didn’t feel the connection between the two main characters as powerful as I expected. At least the 0.5 book was better. There I could feel the connection... the lust and passion. However I hope the next book will be different (in a good way, of course).

I mostly hate the virgin/man whore trope because I know these guys are never going to change for one woman. They will eventually go back to treating sex like a competition to see how many they can bag. So a girl waiting around for them just pisses me off. Here Natalie doesn't do that. Yes Penn hurt her but she moves on.
The next time they meet he has no idea who she is (cause there has been so many) but she doesn't back down from him and his rich childish friends. The bet fit right in with this twisted groups ideals and was also a good way to show Penn wasn't any better then them. He just thought he was.

I really liked Natalie and how she refused to take any shit. I also appreciate a book where the female lead isn't just going through page after page of meeting some girl her man has fucked. In this book at least Natalie has more than one guy after her. And the ending was amazing - the kind of ending I wish for these types of books all the time. With a couple of sequels though I am not sure how much that will keep happening.

What a fantastic and well written storyline!!! This book is such an intriguing and captivating plot that kept me turning page after page. This book takes place 6 years after “One Cruel Night.” I highly suggest reading that book before this one to understand what happened between Penn and Natalie all those years ago in Paris.

Now 6 years later, Natalie has a job where she house sits for rich people while she works on her novel. She’s now at a beach house in the Hamptons for her next job but it ends up being none other than Penn’s house. He’s the man who she shared a night with all those years ago and now he was there. At the house. With his friends. He didn’t recognize her at first but once he did, he wanted her again.
“I was Manhattan royalty and she was the help. But I wanted her all the same.”
Penn and Natalie’s journey is fascinating, alluring and suspenseful!

Audible: Virginia Rose & Stephen Dexter do an exceptional job performing this narration! They act out the dialogue SO WELL and perfectly articulate the tone of the story! Their voices are incredibly appealing and make this book an easy and enjoyable

Deliciously wicked while simultaneously leaving you rooting for the main characters who you sometimes want to slap them around for being stupid and naive. The ending lefting me wanting more of the drama #twists and I looking forward to visiting the upper east side again.

What a cruel start to an addicting series! Gossip Girl meets Cruel Intentions filled with constant twists and turns that will have your head spinning and questioning who is who as well as who you can really trust?

This story picks up years later after a one night stand. Their story can be found in the novella One Cruel Night. A blast from the past that has left her broken with no answers on what had happened from that beautiful time together. Little did they expected to be confronted once again with Natalie Bishop being the help and house sitting for Penn Kennisington's mom.

Let the games begin! A bet was formed and it was one that will have Penn questioning his feelings and his purpose and wants in his life. Natalie is reunited with the one man that she had fallen deep for; however, afraid of more and having history repeating itself. As the story progresses the chemistry grows and the risks and obstacles will make or break them. Just as their relationship begin to progress we are left with a cliffhanger that will have you wanting more. This read entails juicy details, angsty feels, and moments of revenge. Looking forward to reading more and seeing how everything will play out. Want the next book stat!

If you liked the movie Cruel Intentions then you will LOVE this story!! Natalie is a free spirited aspiring writer that takes care of rich people's homes. Penn is the son of the New York Mayor, growing up around wealth and privilege. Natalie and Penn crossed paths years ago and this is how their story plays out when they meet again. I loved the twists and turns, nods to classic 90's movies and the things that I grew up loving. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

This specific video review will be included in the May 2019 wrap-up.

“Our worlds didn’t connect. Our lives were so far from normal. I didn’t want to want this. I didn’t want to want him.”

One Cruel Night and Cruel Money are the first books by K.A. Linde I’ve read. And you guys, I am a goner. COMPLETE GONER for Penn and Natalie.

It’s been awhile since a book has commanded my attention like Cruel Money has done…and from page 1, at that. I’m usually a snail of a reader, but I found myself inhaling every single angsty, drama-filled word. I’d be 4 chapters ahead in what felt like 5 minutes — completely wrapped up in this storyline and lost all sense of time. I couldn’t get enough of the characters, and the crazy, addictive, brilliance that Linde has woven into the pages of this book!

…and that cliffhanger!!! I need MORE! Like right now. How am I going to survive the coming months?! Gah. If you’re looking for an attention grabbing, intoxicating read…then GRAB THIS BOOK! My obsession level is crazy high! I. Loved. It.

Fair warning there is a cliffhanger at the end of Cruel Money. This will definitely make you want to read the next book, which is to release in April. I’ll be anxiously waiting for the next book to publish.

Overall, I give this book 4 stars and recommend it to Contemporary Romance readers and fans of K.A. Linde. This book reminds me of one my favorite shows, which is Gossip Girl and how the rich and the powerful are the ones you look up to and want to be, but they have a dark side and if you are pulled into their world you are likely to get burned.
