I liked the audiobook and all the different voice actors, although it was hard to keep track who was who at first. The book was a little slow but mainly interesting. I did really like the ending,
with the author reveal
but was kind of sad about
the two deaths at the end
. The very last bit of the ending was bittersweet
telling Billy to go find daisy again

I didn't think this book would be for me but I gave it a go any way due to all the positive reviews and..how wrong was I?! Getting whisked away into the land of rock 'n' roll was such an insightful, entertaining and emotional ride. The best thing about it was every character with their different perspectives and experiences seemed like they existed in reality. I couldn't put it down...absolutely worth the hype!

Wow - Perfect for music lovers and lovers of rock n roll! Super cool concept for a novel as well to tell it from the perspective of each band member. My only critique is I would have loved more interjections to understand their motives even more, but the book contains such beautiful and poignant quotes and I saved to reread someday.

Really enjoyable read! I feel like it’s just a jumping off point for all the content that’s been created around this story, I definitely want to watch the show and hear the music. I found camellia to be the most compelling character. Her choices were so different from what I’ve come to expect or root for from a feministic perspective, but I found I was surprised with the power she held and manifested despite taking a road less championed. I found her very unique and inspiring in a different kind of way. She knew what she wanted and she fought for it.
I loved the insight on the “author” at the end and understanding some of those tones in an underlying love letter to her mother.
The rest didn’t fall too far from a typical rock n roll story, but I enjoyed being along for that ride. Again, just appreciate what this author does in taking these chunks of history and building these fictional stories around the overarching eras. I mostly liked how all the different characters and voices came together to tell this story in an interview format, but also found that a bit confusing and convoluted at times.
