Books 1 and 2 were cute. I found this book a slog. Lydia is so terribly exhausting and insufferable, ick. Tiniest bit of plot movement on the magic-of-the-shop front. A jewel thief and another couple murders. All overutured by Lydia's incessant, whining, idiocy, because this was the fictional character we needed inserted into reality - ick again.

My favorite story of this series. So much happens in this book. The time traveling room is explored more, we find out more of Mina’s connection with the bookstore, they have another murder to solve, but that’s not all. Of course, we are also left with more questions. And Mina’s still coming to terms with her Retinitis Pigmentosa. This tale is witty, and wry, and keeps you guessing while delving into so many feelings. Just a great read.

2,5⭐️ It wasn’t so predictable like the first one, but there were some plot holes I believe. Once again, I wish it focused more on the bookshop, but the characters are fun so I will probably keep reading.
