Wether Assata Shakur committed the crimes she was convicted of has little impact on her story and plight. History is written by the victor, yet Shakurs story shows that there is no victory in broken justice and racist society.

i need everyone to read this then read it again five times over.

Compelling, triumphant, strong and emotional. Honestly, this is the best autobiography I have read. What a journey.

I could not finish this book because I absolutely could not spend anymore time in Assata's head. I could not find anything that she did that I agree with and seems to believe that nothing she did was her fault. This is a complete act of self sabotage on paper and points to the problem of social activism that is not grounded in some sort of moral code.
