I've worked as a Hollywood set designer/dresser and it is in no way as glamorous, slow paced, or laissez faire as this book makes it seem, so that really took me out of the story. I enjoyed the mystery and character development, though, especially that we got a real sense of who the ancillary players were.

It was good. I liked it and I flew through it. I guess it's just not something I can see myself remembering in great detail after a while. But I loved Emi's job and the description and Ava and Charlotte and Toby and Jemar or Lemar or whatever his name was. The book as a whole just wasn't super duper extremely amazing.

like unrealistic plots such as we are going to track down the granddaughter of a super famous actor. i very much dislike unrealistic plots such as i’m 17, i’m a production designer, we’re shooting this indie, you’re going to be a breakout star on the cover of vanity fair???
