I received an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I have to start by admitting that I'm a long-time fan of Price's; I tend to love everything she's ever written, and Quill Me Now is no exception.

As always, the world-building is great and despite being a short story there's a nice amount of detail that hints at the bigger picture. Mind you, the bigger picture makes me more than a little uncomfortable; it's rife with consent issues, from the very concept of Spellcraft itself (the most innocuous use of which is as a magical form of subliminal advertising) to the first sex scene. The unsavory implications are acknowledged and addressed, though, at least as much as is possible in a story that wants, at its core, to be romantic and hopeful rather than grim and dystopian: the good guys win the day, the bad get their comeuppance, and everything works out in the end. Cue curtain, on an image of "The End" in fancy script, surrounded by a heart.

I was lucky enough to be offered an ARC of this story, and oh, gosh! lucky doesn't even cover it.

This is not your usual Valentine's story, far from it. But it has it all: humour, magic, romance, and adventure, and I loved it.

Dixon is such a wonderful character, even when everything in his world is going wrong he keeps trying. And yet, when he sees someone who needs help, he won't hesitate, he would go head first straight into danger. The fact that who needs help is a handsome Russian, tattooed and muscled and a Seer on top of all that just... happens :P

I really like this Universe with Scrivener and Seers and magic, and I really hope we will see more of it :D

This was a fun intro to these two characters. Dixon is a hyperactive scatterbrain, I'm not sure how to explain him better. He likes to see the best in people even when obvious indications show otherwise. Yuri is a thug that is under impulsion to work for a horrid little man. When Dixon finally figures out what is happening, he decides he has to save himself and Yuri at the same time.

A well crafted novella with brilliant world building and 2 really likeable main characters.
Dixon and Yuri work together to beat the villain at his own game.
No angst, low steam and an easy enjoyable read.
Looking forward to following the story arc in the series.

Short, pacy and witty introduction to a series.
I think I picked this up at Prolific Works as a series enticement - and it worked as I shall be getting more!
I enjoyed the magic-y elements, not too detailed for a literal person like me, but enough to see how much trouble Yuri and Dixon could get into!
Dixon gets to save Yuri and gets his magic, so win all round

I thoroughly enjoyed this magical rom-com. It's delightful and slightly silly, but there's also a good bit of peril. JCP's writing is, as always, a treat. Dixon and Yuri are endearing characters and I enjoyed their budding relationship. I think the magic system is really intriguing. I look forward to reading more!
