Sweet, creative teen fiction.

Coyote and her dad, Rodeo, have run away from their past and are living in a old school bus converted into their home.

Coyote is a 12 year old girl with a huge personality who narrates the story. In an effort to get back "home" for something very important, she tells her dad that she's GOT to have a Pork Chop Sandwich and the best in the world is several states away. Off they go on an adventure to get the sandwich...along the way they pick up a cast of characters/passengers that are all trying to get somewhere, too.

It was a good read...although got a little long at the end.

"Maybe we're all a little broken. Maybe we're all a little fragile. Maybe that's why we need each other so much." A well written, well-paced, and well told story of healing, friendship, and hope. This book will leave you feeling completely satisfied and emotionally spent, but it will also make any bookworm's heart swoon with the plethora of book references. – Megan G.

This book hits you in all the feels. It was a bit too far fetched but was written so perfectly from a 12 year olds perspective.

Loved Coyote and her Dad! What a unique pair, it seems like they have the perfect life going until you realize that underneath their adventure lies some pretty significant trauma. As you follow along on their adventure, it becomes clear that they both need different things to heal themselves. As they pick up other travelers along the way, they begin their journey toward healing. Grab some tissues when you read this one! I would match it with the YA book Mosquitoland.

What an absolutely beautiful book. I can't wait to read this with my daughter when she is older. Coyote, Rodeo and their friends are such deep, beautiful characters. Amazing story.

This book is so much more than I expected. It is an adventure story. It is a reflection on grief and how important it is to really process it. It's also about friendship, love, self-esteem, regret and coming of age. It's the best novel I've read since A Man Called Ove. In fact, I think I liked this one better. Someone is eventually going to make it into a movie. I'm gong to go hug my children now.
