I can honestly see myself coming back to this at some point but I'm very much a mood reader and I was really trying to force myself to read this. the writing style isn't for me I don't think but I do want to come back to it at some point

This was pretty fun, though I think my expectations were very different when people kept comparing this to heart stopper. It was cute and definitely a feel good queer story. But to me it missed a little spark, a little pining, some more agonising and such. There were moments there but since there are two girls here I felt like the balance was off. I feel like there was a big flip at so e point and that was that.
As I said I think my expectations for what this book was going to be like we're just not at all up to par with what the book actually was about.
It was cute, it was fun, but i think my experience and what I got out of heartstopper was completely different than most people's it seems.

if you're queer, out or not, read it. this book... elsie, joan, ritika, felix, ada and uncle kevin, they all felt like a big warm hug through 409 pages. 🫶🏻🥹

i loved these characters and all the premises within the story— online and irl friendships and crushes, queer coming of age, fandom and a comic book shop, grandmother relationship, a hunt for a long lost elder, lots of amazing food…
there was a lot going on but that did feel so true to life. some of the dialogue felt unnecessary or forced, but goddamn was this book the SWEETEST THING.

I liked this book but ultimately didn’t feel the LOVE I know I can have for a book like this.

My favorite character relationships were between Elsie and Po Po. The complicated nature of familial relationships across generations and different experiences of culture felt extremely raw.

However, the romantic plots of the book left me wanting something more. There were almost too many and I felt like my head was spinning between the characters.
