His Touch is one of those novels that grabs you from the very beginning. The main character Kara has a daughter, Nadia is eighteen months old. Kara is a struggling single mother and takes everything upon herself. She is trying to juggle her work schedule with caring for her growing daughter. Kara and Elena lost their mother at the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center. They both believe in signs from deceased loved ones. Elena had been getting signs from their mother, but Kara hadn’t as much. She is waiting for signs from their Mom that she is a good mother to Nadia, especially since she doesn’t feel like one at the moment. She makes mistakes, gets flustered and progressively starts to lose faith in herself.

Reid Bennett is a NYC paramedic. Kara meets him at the child CPR class he is giving and there is immediate attraction between the two. There are a few times after they meet that Kara and Reid are in the same place, including the store where Nadia gets out of her stroller and Reid finds her. This starts a combative stance between the two as Kara feels like he is very judgmental of her mothering skills. Little does she know he is just trying to deal with his own hidden demons.

Patty did an amazing job of telling this story in such a way with the use of real problems facing many today. Being a single mother, living with a close loss etc. These characters still have a place in my heart.

This book has a lesson to take away while also be endearing and lighthearted. Although the novel deals with serious issues, the author is able to introduce them in such a way that the reader doesn't feel tension or real emotional sadness.

Grab a copy of this book and get ready to fall for Reid and Kara.

Kara has her hands full she has a toddler who seems to like to disappear and seems to be up to no good. She has work and she has being a single mom to deal with. She knows she wants to be just like her mom she just wishes her mom could be there or would send her some sort of sign. When Reid crashes into her life she knows this can not be good at all. Reid knows one thing he will never loose another child on his watch and he wants everyone to take that just as serious. When he keeps dropping into Kara's life he never expect what happens and he knows one thing he want never to be part of someones life again and he never wants to deal with loss again.
I really loved being able to catch with the girls from the series Christmas in New York. What a fun group of friends and to follow up will not let you down with this bunch. The story was so well written and had you laughing and really enjoying reading it while there where certain parts that were so heart wrenching you just wanted to cry. I loved how the author wrote Nadia's personality into the story it really was an amazing part of this story and it was fun to read her little personality. You really can not go wrong with this fun read.
