The start was a bit slow and tedious - but that's Pretty-life for you! I didn't feel the same rapt tension throughout as I did with Uglies, but the ending has me hooked for the next book in the series.

I got a little distracted about halfway through this one, but I'm crazy for these books. They are so much better than their covers would have you believe.

Didn’t think it could get worse. I was wrong. The plot is interesting but it doesn’t make me feel a damn thing. It lacks emotion. The “Pretty” language in these books is just a no for me. I was so annoyed with the main character at the end.

Pretties ups the stakes from Uglies, and i flew through the first half of the book. we are introduced to some even darker sides of this society, and our cast of characters fills out. However, once
Tally crashes into the “reservation” and we find the primitive humans, i was lost a bit
this plot point seemed to veer the story into a different direction that i felt didn’t entirely fit within the established world that Westerfled had already built. but with two book left, im happy to be proven wrong. im interested to see how
Tally as a Special
is handled in the remaining two novels.

I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did the first, but I did enjoy it nonetheless. I'm curious to read the next book now to see where the story goes, even though there's only two characters I actually really like (Zane and Shay). The plot is pretty interesting though so I'm intrigued.
