Es muy hermoso, todo el mundo debería darle una oportunidad a este libro.
Una historia de amor y de dolor al mismo tiempo. Les aseguro que van a amar a evelyn y van a odiar a muchos otros personajes.

Wow. Read this one in two days. I couldn’t put it down. Not at all what I expected it to be. Love the complexity of both loving/empathizing with Evelyn and also completely not understanding/disliking her. Complex characters going through complex things. But also put in a matter of fact way (or maybe it’s because it’s someone telling about their past?) so that you don’t sit there disagreeing with the path the author chose. It doesn’t feel like ‘a path the author chose’, rather these feel like real people.

I’m seeing that there’s to be a Netflix adaptation of the book. Books to movies don’t always turn out well, but I think this could be done very well if given a good budget. Nervously excited to see what comes of it.

This still holds up upon re-read which definitely says something. I loved the way the book was sectioned into each husband and the story revolving around the time Evelyn married them. I realise the Evelyn is a bit of a polarising character perhaps, but I love the depth of her character, and how even though she’s the forefront of the story, we still got to understand Monique’s character well in fewer words. The last few chapters or so were definitely the best in the book, and touched on some very important topics, but it definitely does require some content warnings.

i thought i was going to give this book my ‘run of the mill, pretty decent book’ score of 3. but the last 15 ish chapters were beautiful and made me think about my own future.
i am terrified of losing the people i love and being confronted with a lot of loss in the final stretch of this book was incredibly impactful.
many a tear was shed.

After sitting overnight with my thoughts on this book, I can say that Taylor Jenkins Reid writes a memoir better than any non-fiction author I've ever seen. This book was so captivating and written so beautifully and interestingly. I genuinely don't know how I ever managed to put this book down because every time I flipped the page, I didn't want to stop reading. Evelyn Hugo, you are now my emotional support fake celebrity ❤️

Probablement un de mes livres préférés. Je regrette la traduction parfois trop littérale du texte, mais j'espère que c'est un garant de sa justesse. À mettre entre toutes les mains. 😊

Evelyn Hugo is a quintessential fictional biography that has consumed my waking moments. If you do anything, it should be to read this novel.

I have no words. Nothing I could write would even come close to conveying my experience reading this novel. I know I will fail if I try. All I can say with absolute confidence is that this novel will change my life. For that, I am truly grateful to Taylor Jenkins Reid.
