this one is a reread for me and just like the first time I read this book and any other book from this series, I lived for any Falcone family scenes!!

I like Savio but it seemed like it was less exciting than his brothers stories but that matched the fact that he’s less “damaged” than they are. I didn’t like his sleaziness prior to committing to the relationship but they can’t all be instantly monogamous.

I have a love-hate relationship with this book, in that 80% of the book bothered me, but I really enjoyed the ending. I wonder if the author was going through personal things when she wrote this one, because it doesn’t even seem like her writing, in that she seemed to not put as much drive into this one as her others.

Which is sad because Savio was shaping up to be a funny, lovable character, as seen in previous books. I was very curious how his story would play out. The manwh*re character that he is is VERY much played up in this one, so much that I feel bad for Gemma. I hated when Luca cheated on Aria, but Savio’s actions were so much worse. I think because he acted so blase about it all. After the engagement, he didn’t care, and he did admit that he wouldn’t stop after the wedding. For him, it was all about winning Gemma, and then he stopped caring after that.

Gemma is a character so driven by her upbringing. Unfortunately, she has a crazy crush on Savio when she’s young, and it’s something that never goes away. This crush ultimately was what made me really sad for her; because she saw him only in the light, meanwhile he was already planning to cheat on her after marriage.

I just wish their story played out differently. Maybe less of an age gap would have helped because emotions could have been in there sooner. Savio didn’t want her, but did acknowledge the crush, until she was engaged. Winning her was simply that: a game so he can sleep with her. She thought the world of him, so it was just a very sad book.

I am giving this 4 stars and not 3 because the ending did redeem it. After the marriage, it became the book that I was waiting for. I do believe his care for her, but it is hard to see how it got there, considering the rest of the book.

Very curious of what Adamo’s book will be, since so far there’s been no hint as to a girl for him. Maybe someone from the Famiglia?

I feel the same way as those mixed comments. I like the dynamics of Savio and Gemma. There are so many potentials of this couple and the settings, but what I feel most is messy and out of control. I still think Savio didn't love Gemma that much, and they may not last forever. But….the Falcone family scenes are *chef’s kiss!

Gemma suffered so much with the loss of her dad also because she was treated like an object by the people that should care for her most.

I am glad Savio took her away and gave her the growth and independence she deserves. While he was an animal he treated her like a Queen in the end.
