This is a fun, easy read. I love it!

Falls short in comparison to the fantastic first novel of the series, and the plot seems to wander somewhat (also, some romantic scenes are unexpectedly cliche) but I am happy to see Tamras' journey continue; as in the previous book, the characters are what shine. Will be back for the next one.

Wowzers, what a satisfying ending to a gorgeously written journey.

Much better than the first installation. The characters seem more fleshed out and the writing reads much more naturally. Excited to see what the third one brings.

What an ending to this wonderful trilogy. I have to admit that at first it took me a while to adapt to the first person POV, and the clunky writing of the first book, but the author really came into her own with time, especially in this installation. Some parts of this book had the spirit of the LOTR trilogy (and I say this as the highest compliment possible), and yet the author managed to find her own story and weave a hero's tale without leaning too much on the fantasy tropes. I can confidently say that this is one of my favorite wlw stories (and stories in general) and I will be recommending it to everyone.

PS - I have really expected a grand battle in the culmination of this book, but we, just like Tamras, arrived to it way too late. I wasn't sure if I liked that at first but now I have to say that this way of finishing up the story was refreshing, and fit in with the spirit of the rest of the book really well.
