I never finished the book. I really really tried. I stopped at the fourth rule. Good luck
Equal parts enlightening, heart wrenching and hilarious
Thanks to this book , I went through his lecture series "Maps of Meaning". Just loved it .
I don't get way so many people love this book. I did a quick read, but I found nothing profound. Seems like a lot of self help books except that it is significantly longer with more "intellectual" language. I will re-read again to see if I missed something.
Is it a self-help book or a book that is more food for thought? Most of things Peterson mentioned in the book eg. How your body language influences your brain, are nothing new. Having said that, he puts all his points in a very easy, digestible way. Some chapters are more "dense" than others, especially when he uses myths/religious as analogy. Worth a reading anyway.
I feel many ways about this book. Did I learn something? Yes. Absolutely. Did I agree with everything? No, some yes and some very much no. Was it intellectually and mentally stimulating? Yes. Would I recommend it? Still unsure.

1 star because all 12 of the rules are good rules to live your life by. Everything other than the chapter titles (rules) themselves was painful reading.
