This should be mandatory reading for all college students. I don’t care about Jordan Peterson’s bad press, he is extremely intelligent and clearly knows what he’s talking about

I love Jordan Peterson and his videos but I couldn't get into the book due to all the religious stories.

I've been learning a lot from J.P.'s lectures rather than the book.
12 Rules for Life it's a very diluted perspective, I would say.
Nevertheless, I appreciate enormously what this guy has put into the world, and his thinking will always echo.

A father that the world needs
medium-paced

It took me a long time to finish this book. I started many times at different stages of my life but always stopped halfway through. This time I decided to take it slowly and get some time to digest all the thoughts Peterson offered in his book.
His insights definitely helped me to find some crucial answers (or at least the direction)to the questions I've been dealing with. I'd surely recommend this book to everyone and encourage you to put all your beliefs, ideologies etc. aside and try to listen.

*sometimes Peterson's writing gets hectic and you can lose the flow
4,5/5

Giving this three stars mostly because jordan peterson is kinda a misogynistic piece of shit & you can clearly see that theme throughout a lot of these chapters. However, he did have a lot of thoughts and ideas on how to frame your life that I will take with me for a long time I think.
challenging informative slow-paced

Full disclosure: not a fan of his politics. Some rules were fine in principle, but their explanations and sources were troubling. He doesn't hide his politics (I appreciate that), so if you want to love or hate this guy: this is the book to know where you stand with him.

That was exhausting

God, I wanted to like this book!

But it's just ramblings about a topic using smart sounding facts and ideas which doesn't make real sense. I thought that it was just my impression form his lectures, the book, with structure where it's better seen what point he is trying to make, will be better. Wrong! "There is A and it's connected with B that's why C" is the style of logic there. Oh, and drop the ANY science or psychology doctor ideas regarding this book. It's self help. And even some self help books by not-a-professor-who-once-was-in-the-Harward people contain more science, more precise science and more up to date science! Might make some interesting ideas along the way but mostly just huge disappointment. Maybe will try to finish later, but probably not, not worth it. I regret that I bought the book.

/audiobook. His voice is annoying but style engaging and passionate. Might explain his popularity.
