Reflective, funny, all the feels. Writes about friendship and relationships in a very real way. Are notes in books more popular than I thought?

The book was very well written. I think the story just wasn’t for me. I didn’t connect with the characters.

This book is.. its fine yk

One thing I can definitely say after reading this is that romance books are NOT for me. I truly dont jive well with them. Also I gotta say it took me a while to get over the initial hate towards ricky after the whole “I’m not asking you out I have a gf” like ik Angie was over it at that point BUT I WASNT. Also like I read a ton of african books (and am african myself obv) so the explanations of why Angie is calling a family friend aunty felt so unnecessary. Like yk yt ppl dont put explanations like that in their books. I did like the gimmick with small explanations or details on the bottom of the page but it got annoying when I couldnt find what the explanation was referencing. Overall this book is totally fine and im sure romance lovers will enjoy but well because of this book I have found out I’m not one of them! Also abeg im ngl I still don’t like ricky that much.

I loved Angie... until she was around Ricky. Her drive and passion for her patients was so inspiring and I was always impressed by her accomplishments. But every time she was around him they both became teenagers with zero communication skills. Their back and forth fighting was too much for me that I actually ended up DNF'ing at around 85%.

I read the digital copy of this book. The author uses a lot of footnotes (117 of them). In the digital version each footnote is its own page at the end of the book. I found jumping back and forth annoying. Some footnotes were helpful, explaining medical terms, others were pointless and could have just been woven into the paragraph.
I was really looking forward to reading this book, and committed to finishing it, but it was painfully slow.
