2nd time read- same annoyances. it's a good series and I did enjoy it

It’s the damn repetition that made this reading experience a little annoying.

I do love the couple and their relationship. The first book was pretty good, the second was so weepy, and the third was way too sappy. I never could find a good balance to truly enjoy these characters.

All in all, it was a mediocre reading experience. But I do find myself wanting to read the book about Ty. He was so adorable and I want to know more!

What a journey, I believe this story would be better in only 2 books. And I can't agree with the way the author deceives the read while publishing these books. If knew at front it was a 3 book serie I would have waited and read all books together and would have give 5 stars to them. Unfortunately we all ave to live with the fucked up life ... just like Eric and Jesse and Ty ... and how much did i love those characters. They are full of flaws and life, it was a pleasure to walk with them in this journey.

In the end the author opens the door for another books in this universe, I must say that I would love to read that story but ... only after everything is written.

This series is another series that I will always come back to and reread. Best friends father is one of my favourite tropes and this book is so well written and the characters are so good and likeable that you can't help get sucked into the story and before you know it you've read the whole series in 2 days.
Amazing plot, fantastic writing style, original storyline and overall a really fantastic book
5 stars

All the love for this amazing couple!! What a wonderful and inspiring love story. I’m still on cloud nine, this is going to be an awful book hangover.

It’ s been a long time since I anticipated the release of a book the way I have this one. I’ve just been so curious about what else was in store for Jesse and Eric. It didn’t feel finished, or maybe I just wasn’t ready to say goodbye yet. Honestly, my expectations were so high, I was almost afraid to start reading. I held back for about five seconds and then I was all in. And it was everything I hoped for and more. All the romance. All the love. All the feels. Absolutely worth the wait.

The love these two characters have for each other just feels so all-encompassing. It goes way beyond the bliss of the initial attraction and early butterflies straight into the deeper joy that comes when you’ve gotten to truly know each other, the bliss and comfort you find in being there for your partner through the good and the bad, and knowing that the reverse is true as well.

The author did an amazing job at describing how utterly gone Jesse and Eric still are on each other. Their devotion, the sheer magnitude of their love was an immense pleasure to read. I soaked up every word. Each time I read the words “my Eric”, I about melted on the spot from the sweetness of it all. Jesse’s humor, his limitless patience and understanding, Eric’s bravery and the vulnerable side he shows in this book… It was all just … wow. No words can do this story justice.
I was so happy about the way all the “loose ends” were resolved. Just so glad how it all worked out for Eric, Jesse and Ty especially. There were quite a few family moments that were very emotional, a bit painful, and a lot teary, but full of love and hope for the future.

I very much enjoyed all the wonderful secondary characters like aunt Connie, Charlotte and Stan, and even Tricia. Not to mention the loyal bands of friends both Eric and Jesse have. A lot of potential there for other future stories! So I’m happily readying myself to play the waiting game again.
Spoiler Go Ty!

UGH this was everything my heart wanted and needed!! So many feels, low angst, family acceptance AND A GODDAMN WEDDING!!!!

~~~
“You know what we need right now?” Ty says. “Some coming-out mimosas.” “Coming-out mimosas?” “Yeah, they’re like regular mimosas, but you make ’em when you’re coming out to someone.”
This was the most predictable of the series. Nothing happened that surprised me, reading the other books made it pretty obvious what was going to happen...and it did. Even the stuff with Ty, (you'll know when you read it) I saw that coming since book two. Predictability aside, I enjoyed the book. It's the happy ending everyone wants. I teared up with the emotional happy moments, and there were several of them. It was really sweet and lovely. A nice ending to cap off the series.
This is my fifth book by author Devon McCormack that I've listened to, and needless to say, I am a fan! In the final installment of the BFF series, we get the conclusion of Eric and Jesse's story, experiencing the ups and downs of discovery, lust, pain, hurt, fear, passion, understanding, and growth. I absolutely loved the characters in this series and each of their respective journeys. I really appreciated that both Jesse and Eric struggled with different issues and were able to communicate and support each other throughout the series. There's great representation of mental health and how one is able to cope and/or work to overcome their issues. The conclusion of the story was very satisfying, and bittersweet as I knew I would be done with these characters. At times, I thought the couple was almost too perfect with their maturity and rationality. On paper, they should seem more dysfunctional with the age difference, the whole dating your best friend's father, the social stigma and/or awkwardness that would stem from that, etc., but they maintain a very consistent level of maturity and lovey-doveyness that could have used some more unpredictability.
For the performance, Michael Dean does a phenomenal job with his narration. He has distinct character differentiation and just has a great way at bringing a story to life! The combination of McCormack/Dean has been extremely successful and this story is no different. Dean's narration compliments McCormack's writing and really takes the experience to the next level! Overall, I rated 4 just because I think I would have liked a little bit more dysfunction between Eric and Jesse, just to normalize the relationship more. All-in-all, I thought this was a great series, and I'm excited to experience Ty's story that was set up towards the end. I'll eventually make my way through the rest of McCormack's works, as I haven't been disappointed yet!
