They try to show a loving and supporting relationship… and exactly that's the problem, as it is full of stereotypes and patriarchal structure. The point that it seams that they tried to write a book about a healthy partnership makes it even worse…

I received this book in one of my book boxes, and I’m so glad. It was funny, punny, sweet, sarcastic, sassy and all the other descriptives you can think up.

Bridget is a single mom, after being widowed when her husband was in an accident. She is a nurse in a local hospital and meets a resident doctor during an unfortunate accident. When a mutual friend helps him find a place to live temporarily it just so happens to be her in-suite apartment.

Simon is British and only plans on being here a year then moving home. He never plans on Bridget, or her adorable son.

This book had me laughing from the get go. With Simon’s jokes, their banter, his love of the booty. I laughed throughout the book, at one point I gasped even when I kinda knew it. It had everything I could want or need.

Also this was renamed British Bedmate, and the cover changed but all else remains the same.

It is part of a standalone series but can be read out of sequence.

The first in the Cocky Hero club I did not give 5 stars!
The storyline in this book felt a little bland after reading other books in the series.
I didn't feel as connected to the characters and was just bored.
There was a twist involving Bridget's husband towards the end but even that felt like a stretch.
Overall, I just was not a fan of how this story unfolded and reached a resolution.

Let’s say this is a 3.5 ⭐️.
I enjoyed listening to it while doing my nails and workout. And I, for sure, wasn’t expecting some things in this book.

This was cute, but I didn’t connect with the characters like I’d hoped to. The little boy was utterly adorable, but the concept for this book just felt a little too unrealistic. It had great moments, but it’s not my favorite by this author.

I’ve started this book because it was recommended to me by a friend. I didn’t even read the book description, it was a done deal. Overall I liked it, Simon was funny, hot and in the end he proved himself as a real man. I liked how he always put Bridget and her son first, no matter what. What I didn’t really get it was the fact that she had a son but he was rarely in the picture. Anyway, good book, funny to read and I definitely recommend it myself! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars for these two lovebirds.

Good read. I enjoyed the storyline as there was more meat to it than just the smut.
