Ok so he wants to fuck his best friend and has decided as of the first page of this book that he can no longer hold his shit together. Drew this to an end when he let her fight a battle for him after he digs himself into such an unnecessary hole. Laia was seeming repetitive but interesting! But Elias is just a bitch.

He’s a ten, but he comes onto you at the most inconvenient moments.
I was a bit worried as this book is widely praised and loved by many, yet I was not disappointed. I love that there were characters who stayed true to who they were at their core, while still being able to develop in this first book. The trial scenes had me on my toes. The excitement, the emotion, the unexpected twists and turns.
It truly feels like Laia, Elias, Marcus and Helene are just chess pieces and the Augurs are playing against the Commandant.
My one contention lies within the realm of romance. It seems like too much was happening and while I see that some love this back and forth “love triangle” x 2 it really got to a point where I was rolling my eyes.
Your girl Laia is literally fighting for her life I can’t fathom that she’d blush at a hand graze.
