I'm glad I picked this book up much later than I wanted to. Back then I wouldn't have enjoyed the direct communication and even the dark torture in the first installment. Now it's all well written yet dark literature to me this time.
Yes Elia won me over and boy was he a refreshing male lead to read about more than I have with other ya heroes.
Too many casual references to rape, like it was a forgone conclusion rather than a traumatic event. Quite insensitive, especially in a young adult book marketed to teens.
