The first warrior cat series was my whole childhood. So returning to the universe really gave me a lot of nostalgia. When I read the first series it was of course in Danish because I didn’t know English back then, so it was a bit confusing with the names switching from Danish to English

First, this is a middle grade read and I'm an adult reader so I'm not technically the market, but I loved the first series because I love cats!
There was a lot of characters and names to keep straight. Since it had been many years since I read the first series even as an adult I was a little overwhelmed. Because of the large cast and the amount of waiting and travel that happens I found the book quite slow. I loved the first series so much, it was tough to have new main characters that I felt much less attached to, in addition to those two characters have "romantic sparks" as a middle school grade book in the first book of the series.

I'm certainly interested in the plot and what will befall the clans in this series, but am less interested in following events through the main characters chosen.

everything is so much about ThunderClan that even most of the warriors chosen from other clans to go on the super secret StarClan quest are ThunderClan adjacent
