Solid content as always from Tim Marshall.
I would advise against the audiobook though, the narrator made the bizarre choice to attempt the accents when quoting people from various countries. Unsuccessfully I might add. It's a good book regardless of that.

This book provides a decent and interesting base of information for many of the world's flags in regards to their history and the intentions behind their design.

However, I was expecting a bit more analysis than the brief history of lots of flags. This isn't so much a critique of the author (as if he was to do this, the book could become quite unwieldy) but I think I anticipated a more general view of the politics behind flags, fitted with suitable examples, than the history of lots of different flags.

Interesting read. I power of symbols and symbolism is an incredibly interesting subject and to get the history of a diverse range of flags was very informative. I learned a lot about history that I didn't know for a range of different countries.

Not enough material that is well written/researched enough to merit more than 2.5 stars. If interested in the topic you are probably better off hitting up Wikipedia. Some interesting tidbits for sure, but a lot of unnecessary tangents that don’t add value.
