I enjoyed this book, just wish there was a bigger surprise. By the time I started on the last 1/3 of the book I could already see things coming and therefore wasn't shocked at the reveal. A good little mystery about who killed who in the family, an easy read and you get to see several different POVs which I always enjoy.
Graphic: Drug use, Gun violence, Infidelity, Grief, Death of parent, Murder, Alcohol
Moderate: Addiction, Toxic relationship, Blood
Minor: Car accident

I enjoyed the twists and the who-dunnit thinking. Short read and quick chapters. However, it was very hard for me to stay connected. Although each chapter ended with a “hmmm”, it wasn’t enough to keep me engaged. I don’t know if it was the short sentences, the short chapters but as much I wanted to really like/love this book, I can’t rate it higher than a 3.

A very cliché story about a very cliché family with very cliché plot twists.
In my opinion the book dragged a bit, too many fillers one can say, and the plot twists were not very surprising. The trope has been done in all sorts of media but if you're new to reading I think it will be a good read for you.
The chapters are very short, which is such a blessing, and I think it's what made me read this in a short period of time, because I know if the chapters were longer I would've taken like a month to read it.
Men really suck in this but when do they not?

This started out slow and didn't pick up until a little past the half-way mark. It was difficult to guess who did it which is always a plus. There wasn't enough character development tho. I also would've like some more consistency from Renee and how she viewed the Calhoun's. But, overall this was a quick, fun read, and I kept guessing till the reveal. 🙂
