Amidst the vibrant cherry blossoms of Washington, D.C., the Calhouns host their annual spring party. However, when a murder disrupts the festivities, the seemingly perfect family's hidden turmoil and dark secrets unravel. With controlling parents, wayward sons, and a disillusioned daughter-in-law, tensions escalate as the investigation unfolds, forcing the Calhouns to confront their deepest secrets before it's too late.

I really enjoyed this book. It's a great mystery/domestic thriller maybe, I don't really know what it would fall under.

I hated so many of the characters but you were definitely meant to. I did pick one of the biggest twists but there were a lot of them. It keeps you guessing and there are lots of twists and turns.

Definitely recommend for fans of a good murder mystery with some great characters

3.5/5

Round up from 3.5 stars. It was like an extended gossip session. I don't think that's an insult.

A solid read HOWEVER the damn family wore me out. Not a single one was likable. The book’s saving grace was the justice at the end. I know everyone doesn’t like a happy ending, but with these characters you needed something to justify spending the time reading/listening to such a book. This family was so messed up that I wanted to bang my head against the walls each time a lie was revealed. Honestly it was just overkill.

Very Knives Out inspired.
