I absolutely loved this book! Washington DC is one of my favorite places, so it was cool being able to easily visualize all of the different locations they mentioned. I read a lot of thrillers, and can typically see twists coming from a mile away; however, every single twist in this book caught me by surprise! On top of that, I loved rhetorical writing and the dark humor sprinkled throughout. A thriller that can simultaneously give a thematic presentation of murder and not take itself too seriously is the making of a 5 star read, in my book

This book was an entertaining whodunnit. It was fun to read and not too serious. The story is complicated enough to have many possible suspects. And the characters are different enough so it was easy to follow. It wasn’t the most original or interesting but a good light read.

I was very excited for this one but didn’t end up really getting into it. There were so many characters that were frustrating and difficult to relate to. I wasn’t totally surprised by the twists and it felt like there were a lot of loose ends left
I thought this book was so clever and well written, I flew through it in a few days. The pace for a murder mystery was perfect, and even though I felt like I had a bit figured out, I never truly knew what was coming next and was absolutely floored by the end. The story progressed on and I was in awe. I think each character was so well thought out and unique, and each person was so perfect to the plot. I can’t wait to pick up another one of Thompson’s books! All I can say is wow! That’s how I like my murder mysteries!! Fast and shocking!
