I didn’t like the ending. I kind of knew someone was going to die because despite Harlow and Sebastian both leaving Hopewell, Sebastian starts drinking again and Harlow was still depressed and not being honest to her psychiatrist .

But Harlow and Sebastian were 18. They were so young and had so much life. I understand that Harlow was depressed and it’s realistic because young kids and teenagers committed suicide all the time but I don’t think Harlow should have died. She went to Hopewell twice, took her medication, and continued to see her psychiatrist . She even had a support system being her parents, Sebastian and Noah. This is young adult shouldn’t the message be more hopeful. Like again she did everything right  and her ending being yeah she kills herself in end after her struggling for 2 years. It was so disappointing.

I also didn’t like that it was Harlow’s death that had Sebastian realize he needed to go back to Hopewell. Like I would have liked the story better if both Sebastian and Harlow talked about how they were consider for one another. Maybe Sebastian talks to Harlow’s parents or Dr. Amberg or Marcus behind Harlow’s back. I don’t know but I would have preferred the ending being them going to college together like they planned.

There wasn’t any romance which I don’t mind, but they should remove the romance tag. Yes, Sebastian and Harlow kiss twice and even had sex but it wasn’t romantic. They both even said it was because they needed to feel a connection with someone. I do think Harlow and Sebastian could have gotten together later in life like in college or afterwards but in this book they were simply friends.
