I have not been this invested in a book in a long time.
It is not an easy read. I cried a lot.
This story had the best depiction to date of what it is like to struggle from major depression. It really helped me (as someone who doesn't have depression) understand what it actually feels like. My heart breaks for the people who live with this and their loved ones. That's how good the writing was.
I am in love with Harlow and Sebastian. Their stories gutted me.
EK Blair really has a way of making you think about things in all of her stories and I will be marinating in my feelings for a good while over this.

"He was there for me this summer when I didn't have anyone."
I feel kind of hollow now that I've finished this book. I think I liked it this book. There were some things I really hated. The unhealthy fixation/codependency, the way Harlow really didn't see that she needed help and then started to blame everyone, how Max was written I really couldn't tell sometimes if she was 11 or 17. But I liked the wording of the feelings, that felt so real.

“Why do you want to die?” The answer comes easily, so I give it to him. “Because I don’t know what it feels like to live.”
