My second book from Torre and it’s another super suspenseful read. This was not at all what I expected! I loved the dynamic between Dinah and Joe - it was a love affair for the ages lol. Watching the investigation unfold was enjoyable and there were many twists along the way. Some parts are a bit unbelievable but it was a fun ride nonetheless.

• psychological thriller • domestic suspense • murder mystery and then some • one seriously f-ed up marriage • shockingly twisted • multiple POVs •
While I didn't like this as much as her other work, I still have to give her props for always thinking outside the box and delivering something different from your average thriller.
The writing was on par as usual, and I was engaged, but I had to rewind a few times because the twists were a little too convoluted for me.
Alessandra Torre remains an auto-buy and favorite author for me, despite this less-than-stellar effort.

I have LOVED every A.R. Torre book that I’ve read, thus far. That is- until this one. It had the ‘mystery’ but no where near the suspense or surprise that is typically found in her books. The plot had potential but it was rushed and sloppy- leading to A LOT of holes left in the story. I was disappointed in this book since all of her others ones always suck me in and have me on the edge of my seat. 🫤
