Osman is an excellent, cheeky writer. With some excellent reference to his influences that show off his personality. He’s absolutely a murderino.

And I have a deep affection for these characters, it’s set in my heart. They are dear friends to me and my heart is breaking about Stephen, especially.

I thoroughly enjoy this humorous series, and I hope Osman continues to write a few more!

The only potential drawback compared to the first book is that at times there are so many characters and subplots, there isn't as much depth given to certain relationships.

This by far has been my favorite read for 2023. After every chapter, I could not stop laughing at the dry British humor embedded throughout the story (cue Ron’s internal dialogue at the spa). The Thursday Murder Club comprises of four elderly friends who live in a lovely upscale retirement village where they meet weekly to discuss and solve cold cases. They are each unique and truly care about one another and about finding justice. The plot has many twists and turns, but it is the characters that make this series so much fun! The gang consist of Elizabeth Best, a former MI5 operative, Ibrahim a retired psychiatrist, Joyce, a retired nurse, and Ron a witty union worker. Did I mention they’re retired and in their 80s! I love it!!! Also there’s a small chapter from the dogs perspective that’s hilarious! It was definitely a funny, witty mystery that I didn’t want to end.
