This is a difficult one to assess for me. On the one hand, it's an enjoyable book that shows the skills of Brandon's plotting and foresight. One that is, to date, the most direct storytelling of the mechanics and backstory of the Cosmere. That does so while being entertaining. It's an enjoyable book!

On the other hand, this book and the entire story
cheapens one of the defining moments of Mistborn's first trilogy. Bringing Kelsier back to life is a giant reversal of that epic moment if sacrifice as well as the way the crew contextualizes and thinks about it.

So I like the book. I don't know if I love it. And it'll take years to figure out if it was worth it for Brandon.
