This book was OK.
It was supposed to be a thriller, but I didn't find it very thrilling.
The first half of the book was just masses of description of Catherine's OCD and how she met Lee. It really didn't start getting thrilling until the last 100 pages when you then found out what had happened to her, and
I found the pace frustrating but the brilliant ending did make up for it. I was just sorry it took me so long to get to the end of the book.

I'm giving this book 4 stars based on the fact that it had a storyline that kept me intrigued and had me racing through the chapters to find out the ending. I liked the way the author interspersed past and present events so that you gradually put together the puzzle of why Cathy developed OCD and PTSD. There were a lot of details, especially toward the ending that bothered me or just didn't make sense. Overall, though, it was an enjoyable read (and just terrifying enough without giving me nightmares!).

I could not put this book down. There was alot of deeply disturbing parts, but i just had to know how it ended! Even the very last page gave me chills!!
2.5/5 stars.
this book had such good reviews i expected to be blown away. while it was moderately entertaining, it had absolutely nothing unique or surprising in it. it followed the formula of the thousands of similar stories in the genre: woman being abused, tries to escape, abuser tracks her down. no plot twist, no nothing.
i cant say i understand what all the fuss is about.

A little behind on reviewing this.
4.5 Stars
I had 100 pages left in this book and there was no way I could leave it behind until I got back from my vacation.
One of, if not the best psychological thrillers I’ve read all year. There’s really no mystery (we know from the start who the bad guy is), but this tale of Catherine/Cathy during her relationship with Lee and 4 years later, really gets in your head.

Wow! I was shocked to learn that this was the author's first novel. It was one that totally messes with your head, I dare you not to check your locks at least twice while reading it. The characters were so well-developed and the plot was so engaging.
