At first I wasn't really interested in reading this book. I read, maybe, about 40 pages before my attention strayed and it was a couple of weeks before I picked it back up and started reading it again. It kept my attention the second time around and I finished it in a couple of hours. I don't know what to really say about this book to show how much I really enjoyed it. It was indeed a page-turner, and I really liked how it went back and forth from the past to the present day in the book. It was somewhat hard for me to keep track of the dates but I really wasn't paying attention to them anyway, other than the years.
There were some spelling errors and some grammar mistakes but nothing too annoying. It was just slightly annoying to me because I always catch them and they bother me for a couple of pages after I see them. But other than that... a great read.

This book is amazing! Elizabeth has written it from two different sides, the confident Catherine who meets the guy of her dreams, until things go bad. And the OCD Cathy and what her life is like after Lee tried to kill her. I didn't want to put it down!
The book started off kind of slow, and it was hard to follow at first because it’s not broken into chapters, and bounces back and forth between different years, but once I adjusted, it was easy to read and picked up towards the middle and then became hard to put down!
Into The Darkest Corner is actually a psychological thriller but the most important theme of this work is an abusive relationship - emotional and physical.
It could be great for both people who have never had any abusive relationship in their lives and people who have gone through something like that. I'm really sorry if you had such a horrible experience.
To the people who have never been in an abusive relationship - this might help you understand that people who stay in that situation and don't immediately up and leave are not spineless. It might help you understand that abusive relationships are not completely black and white. Yes, it might seem to you that if someone's treating someone else like shit they should immediately leave but things are not that simple.
To the people who have been abused somehow (I'm so sorry) - no matter how different your experience was even if it was a fraction of the things that happen in this book- this book shows the worst things that could happen - so even if you have had a completely different experience, the sentiment is all the same. You might find that the main character was going through similar emotional turmoil.
I'm sorry this was more like an opinion than a review of the book.

A very chilling, dark read. The fact that this book describes a situation that women all over the world are facing is what is the most disturbing to me. This book was very well written and the characters were very well developed (so well developed that I had more hatred for Lee than I have had for any other character in any other book that I've read).
This novel was an easy but overly long read. The OCD behaviour was described too often and for too long so that it became repetitive and boring. There was suspense and violence.
Overly long and uneven. The OCD descriptions too frequent and lengthy. There was suspense and violence but it needed a good edit.
