I gave it an extra .25 stars because I liked the end (writing style-wise).
A good portion of this book is confusing. You know that they NEED to do the thing, but not WHY they need to do the thing. Or what the consequences are for failing. Not even the characters know, so it's not like they're purposely withholding information from you.
Still a cute story with a cozy chosen-family vibe, which i always enjoy.
I have to say, I really did enjoy the realistic depictions of lucid dreaming and interacting with someone with Alzhiemers. I could feel the writers describing her own experiences with us and it felt relatable. It's why I feel so mixed about this book.
